Free Local-Presence Tool

Local presence & area-code lookup

Enter a US area code to see its state, time zone, current local time, and TCPA calling window — or pick a state to list its area codes. Handy for planning local-presence caller-ID strategy across 331+ US area codes.

Quick answer

What is local-presence dialing? Local presence matches your outbound caller ID to the recipient's own area code, so the call shows a local number instead of an out-of-area one. Familiar local numbers can improve answer rates, though results depend on market, carrier, number reputation, list quality, and campaign type. This tool maps a US area code to its state, time zone, and current local calling window so you can plan a local-presence strategy.

Type a 3-digit US area code to see its location, time zone, and calling window.

Local presence with DialerBee

DialerBee supports local-presence dialing across 1,400+ local DIDs and auto-matches the customer's area code where a number is available. Exact DID availability for a specific area code is confirmed during onboarding. See caller-ID intelligence or the local-presence guide.

Area-code, state and time-zone data is provided for general planning and may not reflect the latest numbering-plan changes, overlays, or a number's real-world location (numbers are portable and area codes don't guarantee a caller's current location). The TCPA window shown applies the federal 8 AM–9 PM rule only and is general information, not legal advice. Local presence can improve answer rates but results vary by market, carrier, number reputation, and list quality.

FAQ

Local-presence & area-code questions

What is local-presence dialing?
Local-presence dialing sets your outbound caller ID to a number in the recipient's own area code, so the call appears local rather than out-of-area. Recipients are often more likely to answer a familiar local number, though answer-rate results depend on market, carrier, number reputation, list quality, and campaign type.
Does an area code guarantee where someone is located?
No. US phone numbers are portable, so a person keeps their number when they move. An area code indicates where the number was originally issued, not necessarily where the person is now. For calling-hour decisions, verify the called party's actual local time from the best available account data.
How many US area codes are there?
There are hundreds of geographic area codes in the North American Numbering Plan. This tool includes 331+ US state and DC area codes (plus US territories, Canada, and other NANP regions), mapped to their state and time zone.
Is this a real-time DID availability check?
No. This tool maps area codes to location and time zone for planning purposes. It does not query live DID inventory. DialerBee's actual local-presence number availability for a given area code is confirmed during onboarding.
