Quick answer

What is customer support software? It is the system a support team uses to receive, route, answer and track customer requests. DialerBee is a phone-first support system: inbound queues with SLA targets, an IVR with callbacks that keep the caller's place, one inbox for voice, WhatsApp, SMS, email, web chat and Telegram, built-in ticketing, CSAT and NPS surveys, QA scoring of every call, and an AI voice agent for routine calls. Pricing starts at $69 per agent per month.

The parts of a support system

What does customer support software include, and what does DialerBee have?

Fourteen parts of a support system, what each one is for, and an honest answer for DialerBee, including the one part it does not do.

Component What it is for In DialerBee
Phone queues (ACD) Puts each inbound call in a queue and decides which agent gets it. Yes. FIFO, round-robin or longest-idle routing, plus skills-based routing enabled per queue. Each queue has its own priority, max wait, wrap-up seconds and recording mode. Callers can hear their position and estimated wait. Inbound contact center →
IVR and phone self-service Lets a caller choose, identify themselves or finish a simple task before a person is needed. Yes. Visual IVR builder: check or manage a booking, request a callback and keep their place in the queue, hear queue status, choose a language, deflect to WhatsApp, or be looked up in the CRM mid-call. IVR builder →
After-hours and missed calls What happens when you are closed or nobody is free. Yes. Business-hours and holiday calendars per company, a text-to-speech message in the voice you choose, an SMS fallback template, and missed-call recovery that sends a nominated manager an SMS naming the caller. Missed-call recovery →
Omnichannel inbox Calls and messages from every channel in one list, with one owner per conversation. Yes. Voice, WhatsApp, SMS, email (inbound from your connected mailbox), web chat and Telegram (your own bot). Each conversation is new, queued, assigned, in progress or waiting on customer. Instagram and Messenger are available through BroadNet OmniChannel; their connection into the inbox is rolling out. Omnichannel inbox →
Ticketing Tracks an issue that outlives one conversation until it is resolved. Yes, built in. Turn any conversation into a ticket and track it to resolution without a separate help-desk tool. Customer service →
Customer record on screen Shows who is contacting you and their history before the agent speaks. Yes. Customer 360, keyed on the phone number: profile, history, notes and a CRM tab, screen-popped on inbound calls. Customer 360 →
CRM and help-desk connectors Links the support system to the records you already keep. Yes. HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, Pipedrive, Zendesk or Microsoft Dynamics with your own app credentials; Odoo and Freshworks with your own API key; a CRM iframe on every plan. Integrations →
SLA targets Defines how fast contacts must be answered and shows when you miss. Yes. An SLA target and breach threshold on every queue, live on the wallboard, with queue performance reports and a Service Level tab in Insights. Queue SLA →
Help for the agent during the call Reduces searching and note-taking while the customer waits. Yes. Live transcription, a running summary, Arabic-aware sentiment, a suggested response and a suggested disposition the agent confirms, and translation to follow a caller in another language. Live agent assist →
Quality assurance Checks how well calls were handled. Yes. QA scorecards, and AI scoring of every call, so review covers all calls instead of a sample. QA scorecards →
CSAT and NPS surveys Asks the customer how it went, and acts on bad scores. Yes. Asked by voice IVR, the AI voice agent, WhatsApp, SMS or a short-link web page. Detractors and low scores become recovery cases in a queue, assigned and closed with an outcome. Surveys and CX →
Supervision, reports and staffing Live floor view, history, and enough people on shift. Yes. Listen, whisper and barge; a live wallboard with agent states; 15 report types with CSV, Excel and PDF export; workforce management with shifts, time-off, adherence and forecasting. Reports and insights →
AI for routine calls Answers the repetitive calls so people take the rest. Yes, as an add-on. Layla, the AI voice agent, answers from a knowledge base you upload, books after a free-busy check, hands off to a human agent, and follows up by SMS or WhatsApp. AI receptionist →
Help centre / article knowledge base A public website of help articles customers search themselves. No. DialerBee is not a help-centre publishing tool. Its knowledge base feeds the AI voice agent; if you need a public help centre of articles, ask about it on a demo or pair DialerBee with a help desk. If customers mostly help themselves from articles, you need a separate help-centre product.

Some parts depend on the plan; see the table below and pricing. The solution overview of the same features is customer service on DialerBee.

Two kinds of support system

Do you need a phone-first support system or a ticket-first help desk?

Support software comes from two directions. A ticket-first help desk starts from email and web forms: every request becomes a ticket, and the phone is usually an add-on. A phone-first support system starts from live contacts: calls and messages arrive in queues, are answered within an SLA, and only the issues that outlive one conversation become tickets.

The right one depends on how your customers contact you. Count last month's contacts by channel before you look at any product. If the phone and WhatsApp carry most of the load, the queue, the IVR and the agent's screen during the call matter more than ticket automation.

Choose a phone-first support system if…

  • A large share of your contacts are phone calls, or your customers expect to call
  • You need queues, an IVR, callbacks and SLA targets, not only an email inbox
  • WhatsApp, SMS and chat matter as much as email
  • You want to score call quality and coach agents on live calls
  • Routine calls (bookings, opening hours, order or appointment questions) could be answered by an AI voice agent with a person behind it

Choose a ticket-first help desk if…

  • Most contacts arrive by email or web form, and the phone is rare
  • Customers mostly help themselves from a public help centre of articles
  • Your work is long-running cases passed between several internal teams, with detailed ticket automation
  • You need community forums or an in-product help widget built around articles

You can also run both. Keep a help desk for email and articles, and run calls and messaging on DialerBee. DialerBee connects to Zendesk with your own app credentials and to Freshworks with your own API key, as well as HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, Pipedrive, Microsoft Dynamics and Odoo. See integrations.

One contact, start to finish

How does a support call move through DialerBee?

  1. 1

    The number routes

Each inbound number in the DID inventory points at a queue, a user, an IVR flow or the AI voice agent. Business-hours and holiday calendars decide what happens when you are closed.

  2. 2

The caller helps themselves, or chooses

The IVR lets the caller choose a language, check or change a booking, hear their queue position, move to WhatsApp instead of waiting, or request a callback and keep their place.

  3. 3

    The queue picks an agent

FIFO, round-robin, longest-idle or skills-based routing, against the queue's SLA target. Callers hear their position and estimated wait.

  4. 4

The agent already knows who it is

Customer 360 screen-pops with the profile, history, notes and CRM tab, keyed on the phone number. Live assist shows the transcript, a running summary and a suggested response.

  5. 5

The issue is tracked if it is not solved now

The agent turns the conversation into a ticket and it is tracked to resolution. A WhatsApp or SMS follow-up sits in the same inbox.

  6. 6

The customer is asked, and the call is scored

A CSAT or NPS survey goes out after the call; a low score becomes a recovery case with an owner. AI scores every call for quality review.

Write the words agents say at each step with inbound call center scripts, and measure whether issues are fixed first time with how to improve first call resolution.

AI in support

Which support calls can an AI agent take?

The routine ones: opening hours, policies, directions, what to bring, and bookings. Layla, the AI voice agent, answers from a knowledge base you upload, speaks only prices from your service catalogue, books, reschedules or cancels after a free-busy check, and sends a follow-up by SMS or WhatsApp. When a call needs a person, it hands off to a human agent.

Keep complaints, disputes, emergencies and emotionally sensitive calls with people. The AI works in 11 languages, with Arabic handled as dialects such as Gulf, Levantine and Egyptian. Set it up as an AI receptionist, or let us set up the number for you.

Worked example

What does a 10-agent support team cost a month?

Ten agents answer phone, WhatsApp, email and web chat during business hours, so they need the omnichannel inbox: Professional. After hours, the AI voice agent answers 500 calls a month at an average of 3 minutes each.

Professional seats: 10 × $129$1,290
AI after hours: 500 calls × 3 min = 1,500 min × $0.60$900
Platform per-minute fees on agent calls$0
Monthly total, billed monthly$2,190
Seats billed annually (20% less): 10 × $103.20$1,032
Monthly total with annual seats + the same AI usage$1,932

Without the AI agent the team costs $1,290 a month, or $1,032 with annual billing. A phone-only team on Starter would be 10 × $69 = $690. AI minutes are billed per started connected minute on managed AI; with your own model keys a flat monthly fee replaces the per-minute rate. Carrier minutes are billed by your carrier, and messaging channel usage is not included in these figures; ask for both in your demo. Taxes excluded. An example, not a quote.

Not sure ten is the right number? Size the team for your service level with the Erlang C calculator. A 20-agent after-hours example is on pricing.

Shortlist

How do you test a support system before you buy?

Run the same eight tests on every product on your list, on a live demo or trial.

  1. 1

Call the support line with every agent busy.

What does the caller hear? Can they ask for a callback and keep their place? What happens at the max wait?

  2. 2

Send a WhatsApp message, then call from the same number.

Does the agent see one customer with both contacts, or two strangers?

  3. 3

Turn a call into a ticket, then close it a day later.

Can a supervisor see who owns it and how long it stayed open?

  4. 4

    Break the SLA on purpose.

Does the wallboard show it while it is happening, or only in tomorrow's report?

  5. 5

Give a low CSAT score after a call.

Does anyone get a task to call the customer back, or is it just a number on a chart?

  6. 6

Ask the AI receptionist for a person halfway through.

Does it hand over, and does the booking it said it made really exist in the calendar?

  7. 7

Ask which quality checks cover every call.

A sample is not the same as scoring every call.

  8. 8

Ask for the full monthly bill for your seat count.

Seats, AI minutes, carrier minutes and messaging, as one number.

For the wider category, including outbound and migration, see call center software. Queue setup is covered on inbound contact center.

Honest fit

When is DialerBee the wrong support system?

DialerBee fits support teams where calls and messaging carry the load. It is the wrong choice if any of these is a must-have.

You need a public help centre

DialerBee does not publish help articles for customers to search. Pair it with a help-centre product, or choose a ticket-first help desk.

Almost all your support is email

DialerBee handles email in the inbox, but its strengths are queues, calls and messaging. A help desk built around email will suit you better.

You need Instagram or Messenger in the inbox today

They are available through BroadNet OmniChannel, but the connection into the DialerBee inbox is still rolling out.

You need a male AI voice or several AI voices

The AI voice agent speaks with one voice, Layla (female). Human agents are not affected.

You want numbers bundled in an online sign-up

Self-serve sign-up needs your own SIP trunk or PBX. If you want DialerBee to provide the number, that goes through sales.

You need a SOC 2 Type II report before signing

It is planned, not held. The current security status is on the trust center.

Security status, implemented and planned, is on the trust center.

Questions

Customer support software FAQ

What is customer support software?
Customer support software is the system a team uses to receive, route, answer and track customer requests. For a phone-heavy team that means queues and an IVR, an agent desktop, call recording, SLA targets and reports. Most support systems now also cover messaging channels such as WhatsApp, SMS, email and web chat, a way to track issues to resolution (tickets), and customer feedback through CSAT or NPS surveys.
What is the difference between customer support software and a help desk?
A help desk is one kind of customer support software, built around tickets: an email or form becomes a ticket that moves between people until it is closed, often with a public help centre of articles. A phone-first support system is built around live contacts: calls and messages in queues, answered within an SLA, with tickets for the issues that outlive one conversation. DialerBee is phone-first and includes built-in ticketing.
Does DialerBee have ticketing?
Yes. Built-in ticketing lets an agent turn any conversation into a ticket and track it to resolution without a separate help-desk tool. Conversations themselves also carry a state, new, queued, assigned, in progress or waiting on customer, so a thread nobody owns is visible.
Which channels does DialerBee support for customer support?
Voice, WhatsApp, SMS, email, web chat and Telegram, in one omnichannel inbox. Inbound email comes from your own connected mailbox and Telegram from your own bot. Instagram and Facebook Messenger are available through BroadNet OmniChannel, and their connection into the DialerBee inbox is rolling out.
Can we keep our current help desk and add DialerBee for phone support?
Yes. DialerBee has connectors for Zendesk and Freshworks among others (Zendesk with your own app credentials, Freshworks with your own API key), plus HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, Pipedrive, Microsoft Dynamics and Odoo, and a CRM iframe on every plan. Many teams keep their ticket system for email and use DialerBee for queues, IVR, calls and messaging.
Does DialerBee include a knowledge base or self-service help centre?
Not a public help centre. Self-service in DialerBee happens on the phone: IVR flows let callers check or change a booking, request a callback, hear their queue position or choose a language, and the AI voice agent answers questions from a knowledge base you upload. If you need a website of help articles, use a separate product for it.
How much does customer support software cost on DialerBee?
Starter is $69 and Professional is $129 per agent per month, and Enterprise is custom. Annual billing saves 20%. Most support teams need Professional, because the omnichannel inbox, surveys, live assist and QA scorecards are not on Starter. The AI voice agent is an add-on at $0.60 per started connected minute on managed AI. Carrier minutes are billed by your carrier.
Can an AI agent answer support calls?
Yes, the routine ones. Layla, DialerBee's AI voice agent, answers an inbound number, answers questions from your uploaded knowledge base, books, reschedules or cancels after a free-busy check, and hands off to a human agent when the call needs one. It works in 11 languages, with Arabic handled as dialects. Complaints, disputes and sensitive calls should go to a person.

Run the eight tests on a live demo

Bring your channels, your seat count and a typical support call. We will put a call through a queue, turn it into a ticket, send the survey and show the reports afterwards, in English or Arabic, and price it for your team.
