Quick answer

What is the best AI receptionist for a Dubai or UAE business? Look for one that answers in Gulf Arabic and English, books into your real calendar, confirms on WhatsApp and hands off to staff. DialerBee's AI receptionist does all four, in 11 languages. It costs $0.60 per started connected minute (about AED 2.20) on a Professional plan at $129 (about AED 474) per agent per month. A salon taking 400 two-minute calls pays about $609, or AED 2,237, a month.

Built for how the UAE phones

What does an AI receptionist need to do in the UAE?

A generic answering bot covers the phone ringing. A UAE front desk also has to cope with two languages on one line, a WhatsApp-first customer base, a Saturday and Sunday weekend and a different month of hours every Ramadan.

Arabic and English on the same number

In Dubai and Abu Dhabi the next caller may want Arabic, English, Hindi or Urdu. The agent works in 11 languages, with Arabic handled as dialects, including Gulf, rather than one flattened language.

Bookings straight into the diary

It checks free-busy on a connected Google Calendar or Microsoft 365 calendar, then books, moves or cancels during the call, and only says it is booked once the system has confirmed it.

WhatsApp after the call

The confirmation goes out on WhatsApp or SMS, which is where UAE customers actually read it. Replies land against the same contact.

Your week, your holidays, your Ramadan hours

Business-hours and holiday calendars are set per tenant, so the Saturday and Sunday weekend, Eid and shorter Ramadan hours are settings, not a memo to staff.

Only the prices you charge

A price-truth guard means only prices in your service catalogue can be spoken. Ask about a service that is not in the catalogue and the agent does not make a price up.

A person when it matters

Complaints, emergencies, advice and anyone who asks for a person are handed to your team. The handoff is a designed branch of the call.

Hear it

What does it sound like in Arabic and in English?

AI voice agent demo — simulated caller. Layla's replies come from the production model; the callers are synthetic voices and the businesses are fictional.

Salon booking in Arabic

This recording is in Jordanian Arabic. Gulf Arabic is handled too: ask to hear it in the demo, and test it on your own script before launch.

Clinic questions and a callback in English

Arabic, English and the rest of Dubai

Can an AI receptionist handle Gulf Arabic and English on one line?

The agent works in 11 languages: English, Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, Turkish, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Indonesian. Arabic is handled as dialects, including Gulf, Levantine and Egyptian, so an Emirati caller and a caller from Amman or Cairo each hear something that sounds local rather than a translation.

One voice, Layla, the female voice, speaks for every persona, and the WhatsApp or SMS follow-up is matched to it. Callers can interrupt and the agent stops and listens.

Be honest with yourself about code-switching. Many callers in Dubai move between Arabic and English inside one sentence. Test that with your own phrases, service names and street names before you route a live number, and judge the result by ear. Our Arabic AI voice agent page lists the tests worth running.

From the call to the diary to the chat

How does it book, and how does the customer hear back?

Google Calendar and Microsoft 365

Before offering a time, the agent checks free-busy on the connected calendar. Google Calendar and Microsoft 365 sync at organisation scope and to each staff member's own calendar, so "Thursday at four with Rania" means Rania's diary. The service catalogue carries each service's duration and resources, and capacity rules refuse a booking when a service is full instead of double-booking it.

See Google Calendar, Microsoft 365 and appointments and reminders.

WhatsApp, because that is where UAE customers look

After the call, the agent sends the confirmation or follow-up on WhatsApp or SMS. WhatsApp can carry approved templates, documents, a location pin for your branch, and interactive buttons and lists, and replies come back against the same contact. Reminders go out over SMS, WhatsApp and email on the policy you set.

Messaging consent is separate from call consent. Voice, WhatsApp and SMS share one consent and suppression record, so an opt-out on one channel applies to the others.

Hours as configuration

How do UAE weekends, Eid and Ramadan hours work?

Since 1 January 2022 the UAE government weekend has been Saturday and Sunday, with a half day on Friday (Abu Dhabi Government Media Office, checked October 2026). Many private businesses follow it; many clinics and salons are busiest on exactly those days. Your hours are yours, so set them rather than assume them.

In DialerBee, business-hours and holiday calendars are set per tenant and enforced by schedule gates. Enter your working week, add Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha and National Day as holidays, and load shorter Ramadan hours for the month, then revert after Eid. When your human queue is closed, callers hear a message in the voice you chose and an SMS fallback template can go out. If nobody picks up within your ring timeout, the caller hears your own announcement and a nominated manager gets an SMS naming the caller.

A practical Ramadan pattern: keep the AI receptionist on the number through the iftar break so bookings do not stop when the team breaks the fast, and set the queue's Ramadan hours so handoffs only target times when staff are there. Our Ramadan contact center playbook covers the month in detail.

Pricing in dollars and dirhams

How much does an AI receptionist cost in Dubai?

The AI voice agent is $0.60 per started connected minute on managed AI, about AED 2.20, added to a Professional plan at $129 per agent per month, about AED 474. With your own model keys a flat monthly fee replaces the per-minute rate.

Worked example: a Jumeirah salon, one month

A fictional salon routes its main number to the AI receptionist. It takes bookings, answers price and opening-hours questions from the service menu, and sends a WhatsApp confirmation. One receptionist keeps a Professional seat to take handoffs and complaints.

Line USD AED
Calls answered by the AI receptionist 400 a month 400 a month
Average length, in started minutes 2 minutes 2 minutes
AI minutes: 800 × $0.60 $480 ≈ AED 1,763
1 Professional seat for the person who takes handoffs $129 ≈ AED 474
Total for the month $609 ≈ AED 2,237
Cost per answered call ≈ $1.52 ≈ AED 5.59

AI minutes are billed per started connected minute, so a call of 1 minute 10 seconds counts as 2. Measure your average in started minutes, not in seconds.

Three UAE examples, monthly
Business AI calls × length Seats USD AED
Small salon or spa 200 × 2 min = 400 min 1 $240 + $129 = $369 ≈ AED 1,355
Busy salon or beauty clinic 400 × 2 min = 800 min 1 $480 + $129 = $609 ≈ AED 2,237
Multi-doctor outpatient clinic 600 × 2.5 min = 1,500 min 2 $900 + $258 = $1,158 ≈ AED 4,253

Examples, not quotes. DialerBee bills in US dollars; dirham figures are conversions at the fixed peg of 1 USD = 3.6725 AED, rounded. Seats are shown at monthly prices, and annual billing saves 20%. Carrier minutes are billed by your carrier, and taxes are excluded. See pricing or work out your own month with the AI receptionist ROI calculator.

Who it suits

Which UAE businesses fit, and which calls go to a person?

The fit is any business whose phone is mostly bookings and repeat questions. The line between AI and a person should be drawn before launch, not discovered on a bad call.

Business Give to the AI receptionist Send to a person
Clinics and medical centres Booking, moving and cancelling appointments; opening hours, location, parking, which documents to bring; reminders and confirmations. Symptoms, results, medication, anything clinical, anything urgent. The agent does not give medical advice.
Salons, spas and barbers Booking by service, stylist and time; prices from your service menu; WhatsApp confirmation; rebooking a no-show. Complaints about a treatment, refunds, a regular who wants to speak to their stylist.
Real estate brokers Answering listing and area questions from your documents, booking viewings into an agent's calendar, taking callback requests. Negotiation, offers, contracts, anything that depends on a broker's judgement.
Hotels, restaurants and hospitality Opening hours, directions, policies, reservations where a calendar holds capacity, confirmations on WhatsApp. Guest complaints, group and event enquiries, special requests that need a decision.
Car service centres and dealerships Booking a service slot, answering what a service includes from your catalogue, confirming the appointment. Diagnosis, warranty disputes, quotes for work that is not in the catalogue.

In every business, these go straight to a person

  • Anything that sounds like an emergency, which belongs with your staff or the emergency services
  • Medical, legal or financial advice of any kind
  • Complaints, and any caller who is angry or upset
  • Payment disputes and requests for an exception to policy
  • Emotionally sensitive calls
  • Any caller who asks for a person

When the agent hands over, your staff take the call in inbound queues that route by FIFO, round-robin or longest-idle, on the same platform. Every AI call leaves the recording, transcript and outcome in the customer's history.

General guidance, not medical, legal or regulatory advice. Your own policies and your sector's rules decide which calls a person must handle.

Rules and data

What do TDRA and the UAE PDPL mean for an AI receptionist?

Answering inbound calls is the low-risk side. The UAE's telemarketing rules, Cabinet Decision No. 56 of 2024 under the TDRA, bite when you call people back for marketing: prior consent, an in-call question asking whether the person wants to continue, calls only between 09:00 and 18:00 UAE time, no calls to numbers on the national Do Not Call Registry, and calls from a number under your company's commercial licence.

DialerBee's UAE TDRA jurisdiction pack checks outbound attempts against the do-not-call list, the calling window, the consent record and caller ID ownership before the call is placed. Caller IDs are owned by one tenant, so your licensed number cannot be presented by anyone else. Recording mode and the recording announcement are set per queue, so the notice at the start of a recorded call is a setting.

On data, personal information in the UAE falls under Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021, with separate regimes in the DIFC and ADGM free zones. On DialerBee, each tenant's data is isolated with row-level security, encrypted in transit and at rest, recordings are served through signed links that expire, retention is configurable per tenant, and customer call data is not used to train shared cross-tenant models by default.

These are compliance-supporting controls, not a compliance guarantee, and not legal advice. Confirm your obligations with the TDRA and qualified counsel. Read more in the UAE calling guide, the TDRA compliance guide, the GCC PDPL guide and on the trust center.

Before you sign anything

How to test any AI receptionist for UAE callers

Six checks to run with any provider in Dubai or abroad, including us. A web page cannot answer them; a live call can.

1

Call it in Gulf Arabic, then in English

Place a test call in the Arabic your callers actually speak, then one in English. Listen to how each sounds, how it handles an interruption, and how it ends.

2

Switch languages mid-sentence

Many Dubai callers mix Arabic and English in one sentence. Test it with your own phrases and judge the result yourself rather than accepting a vendor's description, ours included.

3

Read back a UAE number and a date

Ask it to repeat a 05x mobile number, a date and an amount in dirhams. Callers mix Eastern and Western digits, and this is where many agents slip.

4

Book on a Saturday

Make, move and cancel a booking against your real calendar, including your weekend and holiday rules, then check the diary.

5

Ask for the WhatsApp

Confirm the follow-up arrives on WhatsApp from your business, says what was agreed and lands in the same customer history.

6

Ask for a person, twice

Then ask who can switch the agent off. Your supervisor should be able to stop one agent, one campaign or all AI calling from the console.

Also ask every provider for a published per-minute price, the demo audio, and a written list of the calls it hands to people. If any of the three is missing, ask why.

How do I get it on my UAE number?

  1. Choose the number. Ask for a demo and we set up the number for you, or connect the UAE SIP trunk or PBX you already have. BYOC connects the trunks you contract today.
  2. Load what it may say. Upload your FAQs and policies to the knowledge base, and enter your services and prices in the service catalogue.
  3. Connect the diary. Link Google Calendar or Microsoft 365, and set your working week, holidays and Ramadan hours.
  4. Decide the handoffs. Agree which calls go to a person and which queue takes them.
  5. Test, then go live. Place test calls from Agent Studio in Arabic and English. Versions publish and roll back, and kill switches stop the agent from your own console.

Is an AI receptionist allowed under TDRA rules?
The TDRA rules under Cabinet Decision No. 56 of 2024 govern marketing calls: prior consent, a 09:00 to 18:00 UAE time window, the national Do Not Call Registry and calls from a number under your commercial licence. DialerBee's UAE TDRA jurisdiction pack applies those checks to outbound attempts, and recording announcements are configurable per queue. These are compliance-supporting controls, not a compliance guarantee or legal advice; confirm your obligations with counsel.
Where is the call data kept, and what about the UAE PDPL?
Each tenant's data is isolated with PostgreSQL row-level security, encrypted in transit and at rest, and recordings are stored on private cloud infrastructure. Storage locations and retention policies are configurable per tenant, and customer call data is not used to train shared cross-tenant models by default. Personal data in the UAE falls under Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021, with separate DIFC and ADGM regimes; DialerBee does not provide legal advice.
Can I keep my existing UAE number?
Yes, if it comes in on a SIP trunk or PBX: the self-serve trial connects your own trunk or PBX, and BYOC connects the UAE SIP trunks you already contract. If you would rather not deal with trunks, ask for a demo and we set up the number for you.
